Today we set off without our morning coffee, thinking we would stop in the next town which was only 3km away. It was a pleasant and easy stroll through beautiful yellow flowers.

The weather was cooler which made for great walking. So we went in search of coffee. However, it is SUNDAY. Oh yes, I’d forgotten how most shops/bars/cafes are closed in Spain on a Sunday. So… at the 3km mark there was no coffee to be had. (Some of us started hallucinating at this point…)
The path took us once again through fields…it wasn’t that exciting but easy enough.

We arrived at Moratinos. Lucky for us a cafe was open! We got coffees and tostadas con tomate-a classic Spanish breakfast.
Moratinos is a cute little village. It has the caves built into the hill which dated back to Roman times when they used to store wine + food. Nowadays, apparently, there mainly used for ‘parties’??!

Anyways… we picked up a fellow pilgrim from Hungary called Augusten-lovely young man, 28, and a Barista back home. We walked and chatted about life. He wanted some advice about his next
career move so I put on my coaching hat and… 🙂

Sahagun – the official half way point. Lovely town. Didn’t get to enjoy it last time as we walked through.

We went to the Plaza Mayor for a squiz. Decided to stop and have dinner at a Michelin recognised (not starred) dinner at Restaurant Luis. It was fabulous. Best meal on the Camino so far!

The street art in Sahagun is everywhere and pilgrim themed…

Great day, great evening. Life is good.
