Well this midlife vagabond is on another great adventure! The plan is to walk the Camino from Portugal to Santiago de Compostela then continue on the Muxia Finisterre Camino, being a pilgrim again for a short while. More on this in later posts.
But we started our adventure in the beautiful city of Lisbon. This is our 3rd visit and it never disappoints! It’s so pretty with all the beautiful colours on the buildings…

The Alfama is the oldest part of the city – narrow cobblestone streets wide enough only for bikes and people. It reminds me of the medicina in Fes, Morocco. We got lost and found ourselves (literally and rhetorically🤣) in a wine bar. Several vinhos and some great food later, we danced away the afternoon to some very cool music played by a very cool dude…

Since I am not officially a pilgrim yet we spoiled ourselves and stayed at this lovely apartment … no, this is definitely no pilgrim hostel!

We caught up with a dear friend we met on the last camino, and spent the day eating great seafood and just catching up. Camino friendships really are special.

Scenes from Lisbon…
