After Fes we boarded the bus to Midelt, a market town in the centre of Morocco. On the way we stopped to take a walk through the remote farming village of Bremmem, where life couldn’t get more simple! We saw a group of 4 girls, the eldest was 14 and the youngest 5. They were doing the family washing in the creek. Or at least the oldest girl was, while the younger ones looked on. No washing machines here!
A little way down the path we found another woman washing the grains to make the bread.

With her grandmother supervising! The tattoos on the woman’s face identify her Berber tribe.

Children were playing in the street the old fashioned way – not a PlayStation or device to be seen!

As we walked through the village, word spread that visitors had arrived so many more children came out for a look at us. So we gathered them around and I taught them a few songs, of course! They loved “Head Shoulder Knees and Toes” and the “Hokey Pokey”! I love these opportunities I get when I travel!

I made some friends as we walked on…

These are the moments I most love when I travel. Next stop-Sahara Desert, camel riding and camping!
