…and your cathedral was not too shabby either! After 14 days of walking it was time for a rest day in the beautiful city of Burgos. Checking into a real hotel was a treat. No snorers, private bathroom. My sleeping bag looked forlorn in the corner of the room wondering why it was not getting its daily outing. Slept in until after 8! The photo above was the view from our window. The Cathedral was stunning, of course.

Lots of Burgese (Burgesians? Locals…) have dogs here so I did manage a few cuddles (with dogs, not locals, now that would be weird!) and got my fix for the moment. This lady clearly has dog walking down to a fine art…

We caught up with many of our Camino family who also decided to rest here. We had tapas and dinner at a local haunt called Los Herreros and farewelled Alex and Judy from California who are going home from here. Here are our other Family- Team Keens (they have ugly shoes too!), and Lisa (whose major purchase for the day was bath salts!). Thanks Fred for the photo.

I also discovered the local vermouth! And here are some obligatory foodie shots of our dinner… Lamb asado (yes i think it looks like the whole lamb…) and Salad of Goats Cheese with Walnuts and Berries.

A visit to the Museum of Human Evolution this morning before we head off to walk to Tarjados – an easy day of on 10km. But the skies are blue, and the sun is shining, and guess what – it’s a great day for a walk!
